What's your difference between Fantasy and Historical?
Would Fantasy be like the L5R Clans and shugenja and maho and whatever L5R-fantasy-stuff set in Feudal Japan?

I voted for Feudal Japan with Fanatsy Elements as I can't really see most Rank 5 techniques working in a non fantastic setting.

I voted for Feudal China Fantasy... Feudal Japan Fantasy ~is~ Rokugan after all, but I like an oriental mythos with elements of the fantastic. So I can go with the Japan variant easily enough.

So, what would you do if 4E turned out to be quite different than 3ER? I mean for instance if they switched the families' and schools' trait bonuses from what they have been traditionally and tweaked the costs of buying certain advantages disadvantages and traits?

I like L5R, and we can, or cannot, use 4E when it comes out.
I don't always go by polls, I usually run what I want.
I think the /best/ fit for fantasy is China. Would you guys be put off if I did that instead of Japan?
Each will be based in history regardless. Please let me know who wants to play, etc.

Probably.
I don't have enough time to do extensive research on historical China and play and create an elaborated character.
Or I'm going to play a farmer who doesn't know much about the world. Except his knowledge of the next villages and a radius of 20 miles around his home. |
