The combat nears it’s final moments, great wounds have been inflicted on both sides and the knights are clearly fatigued from the deadly dance. Bandalin staggers a bit feeling the pain radiate through his shoulder. His hand comes up once and comes away with blood, and quickly tears of pain form in the kender’s eyes. He gently picks up his well made silvered dagger cleaning it and replacing it into his sheath.

The last fighter though no knight of Neraka clearly recognizes his peril and throws his mace down where it lands heavily in the dirt. He spits blood and grumbles “My life aint worth this botched job, they told me there’d be two squires not two hell-bent demons.”

He has Clearly and grudgingly surrendered the fight, Oktamore may continue his charge and probably slay the man, the choice is his to make. Vaelgar stands back from the attack telling justice to cease his onslaught.

Kialar notes the wounds of all involved, and their condition has not changed from the previous combat.

Bandalin drops to the ground in the clearing turned battleground. He sits there trying to control his breath; he looks down at his soulder were he was hit twice.

"My great uncle Cavangh always said that the thing that you must have to worry about from bow are the arrows, and from the arrows their tips," he thinks for a while, "He wasn't particularly smart my uncle... when he died we nicknamed him Porcupine... guess why.... ouch." he whinces as he laugh remembering that great uncle.

Oktamor slows his charge, seeing the man drop his weapon. Instead of killing the man, or at least attempting to, the squire spins his axe, swinging toward the back of the man's legs with the /back/ of his axe.

His intension is to drive the man to his knees, making sure that he is not attempting some foul trick.

Kialar doesn't trust the man. Perhaps this is just the first, or second(?), wave. If they knew who they were after, someone will know they've failed. In any case, the healer decides to address some of Oktamor's wounds. "Oktamor, let me heal some of those wounds in case there is another wave of bandits." Kialar places his hands on the squire's shoulder as the healing power passes through him and onto Oktamor. Pleased at the result, Kialar raises an eyebrow at Bandalin, "And you too?"

Vaelgar levels his sword at the surrendering man, and then kicks the fallen weapon to the side. He see's his brother's attack and turns his head, not wishing to watch the blow. Once it happens either way, he turns back to the prisoner, "You are our captive now. Speak truthfully, and we shall find our mercy, lie, and you shall find no compasion in me." The Squire seems much better off wound-wise than the others, and refuses healing until the others are taken care of.

"Brother watch him, while I get a rope." If Oktamor stands guard over the prisoner the brother will sheath his bastard sword, grab up a rope from camp and tie the man's hands and feet. He scans the edges of the camp, and to the Kender speaks, "When your wounds are tended, scout the edges of the camp Bandalin. Do not go far, but see if others linger. Shout if you find anything." He rubs the muzzle of Justice as he thinks, patting his horses head, "Good boy, I'll get you a treat in a minute." Glaring over the prisoner he speaks, "Who are you, who do you work for, and what did you seek to gain from us? Speak." He points a glaunted finger at the man.

Looking up at the healer Bandalin nods weakly "I'd greatly apprecitate your healing touch Kialar.. very much indeed." Leting himself be healed, Bandalin listens to the Knight and nods, I can do that, this time i'll keep myself to the shadow.. very foolish of you Bandalin leting youreself be shoot like that, and not once but twice.

After being healed, Bandalin stands up, much relieved and surprised "You are very skilled Kialar. Many thanks" he says smiling a big smile at the healer, fumbling around in his pockets he takes out a smooth and round red white stone he found somewhere and thought was very nice. "Here, I'd like you to have it. It's nice isn't it? I found it as I was runing away from... ahh, a very big dog. I jumped over a fence and landed in a small pool and there it was... sometimes I look at it to calm myself."

With that he turns around and walks towards the edge of the camp, "I'll just take a look around Sir Knights.." and he darts into the bushes, hiding himself as much as he can, and moving very very quietly, keeping hie eyes and ears open he circles the camp slowly...[/i]

Bandalin quickly heads off into the foliage doing his best to not be seen and see what might be coming, he is gone for several minutes, returning later with naught to tell.

Oktamor Checks his charge and reverses his weapon, Slamming the back of the axe into the unarmed man’s Left knee knocking him to the ground with a startled cry and a knee that will not support him again for some time.

[ Spoiler ] [x]

“Aagh! My knee, to the nine hells with ya.” He sits on the ground pointedly ignoring the demands of Vaelgar. He holds his knee attempting to comfort himself. He only glares at you when you question him.

Meanwhile Kialar steps up and lays his healing hands upon Oktamore, quickly a warm glow engulfs the healers hands and closes some of the nastier wounds on the squire.

Kialar moves around the camp without any concern for the captive. The squires will take care of him. When Bandalin returns, Kialar pulls out a wand, "Kendar, relax, this will feel good." The helaer concentrates for a moment, not unlike when he casts spells. But, this time the power comes from the wand.

Oktamor stands over the captured man. "I could have chopped your leg in two. I think you will prefer a strain." The man levels his axe at the attacker's head. "I think you should talk. And I think you should do it quickly. I have run out of patience for being kind to those that try to kill me."

Returning with a rope he pats his brothers's shoulder, "Calm brother. We must remember our lessons of mercy and compasion. Its clear this man has been misguided and requires penance and prayer to be redeamed." He begins to bind the man's hand, removing all weapons from him before binding his feet as well. "I shall ask you again, and I suggest that you answer me, my methods are far more human than my brother's can be." He checks the knots and asks again, "Who are you, who do you work for, and what did you seek to gain from us? Speak."

He gladly takes the healing from Kialar once he sees that the others are tended too first, his wounds not as greavious as some of them.

"Thank you Kialar," the Kender says looking up at the man and smiling "I do feel much better. Bandalin stretches his arm back tentatively, then feeling no pain, makes a full round with his arm... This is great!!!

Bandalin observes as the two Knight-Brothers "talk" with the prisoner, and looks closely at the man to see if there is anything "strange" about him. The brothers sure look angry at this guy...

Kialar finishes healing the group, mostly by using his wand. When finished, he stands back to look at everyone, more confident than he was only minutes before, "Good, everyone is almost fully healed. I'll stand watch."

Kialar loads both his crossbows, then picks out a place not far from the group with a good field of fire.

Kialar Again spends a few moments healing this time from his magic item. The thin wand is a miracle unto itself. Kialar deftly lays it upon Each member of the group, and twice on the brothers. With each use a claming heat spreads through them and the wounds close.

[ Spoiler ] [x]

Kialar then Reloads his Crossbow, a cumbersome process for the heavy bow, but with the winch’s help it is done. He moves off to watch clearing, both Kialar and Bandalin have determined that the quick path back to the Road to Solanthus is clear. The morning is stretching behind them but the Issue of the last attacker remains unsolved. The injured man sits helpless on the ground. And Oktamor presses his advantage attempting to Intimidate him. The bloodied axe and the crazed look in the usually calm squire looks like he is out of control. He blurts out, I’m Stephan Akan, I am a mercenary. I was hired to kill you I know no more then that!”

[ Spoiler ] [x]

Presently after searching his own packs in vain Vaelgar realizes that he had not packed any rope from the camp. He quickly takes a rope from his brothers well prepared packs. He quickly ties the cowed man’s hands. It is clear that he cannot walk at this time.

Oktamor is angry, and he has always been a bit brooding even though much of his knightly training should suggest otherwise.

"You know more than that," he says, "Who hired you? Speak with a name, and if not a name, a face, if not a face, well, then I suppose my axe might not be clean of blood so soon."

"Talk!" grunts the squire, pushing upon the man's back with his heavy boot.

Vaelgar is the 'Good Knight', while his brother plays the 'Bad Knight'. With a comforting hand on the captive's shoulder the squire speaks sfoftly, "I would suggest you be quick with your answers, and be honest. My brother is not always as compasionate as I am. Tell us what we want to know." Vaelgar thanks Kialar for the healing and tests his wounds pleased to see them better, "Kialar perhaps you can tend to this man as well. Some bandages to stop his blood loss."
