Paizo.com Huge Sale on Dungeon and Dragon Magazine
Posted by Vardaen on Monday, February 16, 2009 (13:58:29) (160 reads)

Paizo.com is having a huge (50% off) sale on back issues of Dungeon and Dragon and Polyhedron magazine's. If you are looking for a certain issue, now is the time to get them.
Back to Back
50% off many of our Dragon, Dungeon and Polyhedron back issues!
Mon, Feb 2, 2009, 07:00 PM
Sit back and listen: Paizo will be moving this coming summer, and looking back in the warehouse, I see stacks upon stacks of back issues of Dragon, Dungeon, and Polyhedron magazines. I'm having flashbacks to way back when we last moved, when we had to ferry those back issues back and forth in the back of a moving van. It was truly backbreaking labor.
But enough of looking back; let's get back to the point. I'd much rather find good homes for these back issues than have to put my back into it and put them back on the truck. While I wouldn't mind doing enough exercise to get back in shape, I really don't want to wind up looking like the hunchback of Notre Dame.
So, you scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours: From now until we've seen the back end of February, we will be bending over backwards to give you back some greenbacks with savings of 50% off on most of our Dragon, Dungeon, and Polyhedron back issues. We have plenty of back stock, so don't hold back!

D&D 4th Edition Interactive 2 Weeks Away
Posted by Vardaen on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 (12:19:33) (272 reads)
On June 7, Wizards of the Coast will release Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition, the latest incarnation of the esteemed roleplaying game that inspired legions of geeks everywhere.
But in addition to fundamental changes in the sourcebook material, one of the new edition's selling points is its interactive component, which automates many of the tasks which players were forced (inspired?) to do themselves, such as dungeon mapping, character creation, and others.
Norton & Co., which will help distribute the sourcebooks, released two screenshots of the interactive component on Tuesday: one of the character creation screen, and one of the actual "tabletop" interface. It's worth noting that the tabletop interface can be accessed online, allowing players from different parts of the country to participate.

Free from DriveThruRPG - When the Sky Falls
Posted by Vardaen on Friday, January 04, 2008 (13:16:33) (374 reads)
This event book serves as a guide for DMs and players whose world is struck, and struck hard, by a meteor. Following the model of the popular event book Requiem for a God, D&D Epic Level Handbook designer Bruce Cordell brings you When the Sky Falls.
This book presents a variety of new prestige classes for characters close to ground zero, a variant magic system powered by residual meteor fragments, and many new feats and spells. When the Sky Falls also describes frightening new monsters -- creatures twisted by their proximity to the Afterfall.
This looks like a good book for any game running in the vWorld setting and its Nine Falling Stars!
When The Sky Falls -- Free!

Last Dungeon and Daragon Mags (EVER!)
Posted by Vardaen on Friday, August 17, 2007 (12:27:38) (388 reads)
I just received my last Dragon Magazine issue, the last one ever. For those of you living under a +2 Boulder thrown by a very anti-social Hill Giant, the magazines "Dungeon", and "Dragon", have been canceled. Their last issues shiped this month and have arrived to subscribers (on newstands soon).
Its the end of a gaming era if you ask me.
Go to Paizo.com to check out more information.

Monte Cook's World of Darkness (d20)
Posted by Vardaen on Friday, August 10, 2007 (12:23:16) (351 reads)
For his last book written in the roleplaying genre, Monte Cook has penned his own unique version of the horror setting known as the World of Darkness.
What is the World of Darkness?
It's a place very much like our world, sharing the same history, culture and geography. Superficially, most people in this fictional world live the same lives we do. They eat the same food, wear the same clothes, and waste time watching the same TV shows. And yet, in the World of Darkness, shadows are deeper, nights are darker, fog is thicker. If, in our world, a neighborhood has a rundown house that gives people the creeps, in the World of Darkness, that house emits strange sighs on certain nights of the year, and seems to have a human face when seen from the corner of one's eye. Or so some neighbors say. In our world, there are urban legends. In the World of Darkness, there are urban legends whispered into the ears of autistic children by invisible spiders.
What will the World of Darkness become, as envisioned by Monte Cook? The answers will be revealed in this book.
